Abstract
This article seeks to uncover a delicate component of President Bourguiba’s position on the Palestinian issue, a position that has sparked a lively debate and has been widely discussed especially since 1965. Our analysis focuses on the angle of Tunisia’s foreign policy towards sub-Saharan Africa and the impact of the Palestinian issue in this context. We have taken a closer look at the procedural aspects of Tunisian foreign policy regarding the Palestinian issue as well as its ramifications, Bourguiba considering diplomatic activity to be a crucial element of the overall strategy of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
