Abstract
Malouf is considered a significant component of Tunisia’s musical heritage. Although rooted in Andalusian tradition, it has been assimilated into the Tunisian musical system and has become a distinctive cultural marker—particularly in regions such as Testour. This city, deeply influenced by Andalusian civilization, has integrated malouf into its cultural and social life, where it plays a central role in both religious and festive occasions. This study seeks to highlight the key elements of Testour’s cultural identity through a socio-artistic approach, emphasizing the close interplay between social practices and musical expression.
