Corrigenda and Retractions Polices
1. Corrigenda
In alignment with the editorial standards of Turath Journal, the following procedures govern the publication of corrigenda:
Occurrence of Errors: A corrigendum may be issued to address errors identified during the production process, spelling mistakes, typos, or to correct mistakes made by the authors that affect the clarity, accuracy, or reliability of the article.
Criteria for Publication:
-
Corrigenda are published if the error compromises the scientific record’s integrity or if a minor portion of an otherwise reliable publication is found to be incorrect or misleading due to inadvertent errors.
-
The correction must provide clarity and uphold the journal’s commitment to academic rigour.
Publication Format:
-
A correction note is appended to the relevant issue with the article type specified as "corrigendum" and the title clearly labelled as "Corrigendum."
-
The correction note is freely accessible to all readers.
-
It provides a clear description of the error, including spelling mistakes or typos, and transparently details the changes made to the article.
-
The online version of the article is corrected, and the PDF version includes a link to the correction note.
-
The correction note and the corrected article are interlinked for ease of reference.
It should be noted that correction notes are reserved for significant errors that impact the scientific record’s integrity. Minor changes that do not affect the article’s validity may be indicated with a footnote in the online version.
2. Retractions
In adherence to TURATH Journal’s commitment to academic integrity, the following guidelines apply to retractions:
Evaluation Process: Retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern are handled in accordance with COPE’s Retraction Guidelines.
Retraction Procedure:
-
If an investigation confirms the need for retraction, a retraction note is published in the respective issue with the title "Retraction Note: (Article Title)."
-
The retraction note is freely accessible to all readers and includes the identity of the party retracting the paper (e.g., authors, editors, or publisher) and objective, factual reasons for the retraction.
-
The original article PDF and any associated supplementary materials are retained, each marked with a "Retracted Article" watermark.
-
Online metadata is updated to include "Retracted Article:" before the full title, with a link to the retraction note.
-
The retraction note and the retracted article are interlinked for reference.
Exceptional Cases: In rare situations where the content of an article must be removed from online publication to comply with legal obligations (e.g., defamation, privacy violations, or legal breaches), the metadata remains online, accompanied by a note explaining the reason for the content’s removal.
These policies reflect Turath Journal’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of academic publishing and ensuring the integrity of the scientific record.
